Tuesday Tunes [On a Wednesday] – Poetry Through Music, #7, 2015

Inspired by “Oceans” by Seafret:

We were besmitten then, obsessed each with each,

strolling hand in hand, eye-gazing, along the beach

on that one holiday, that singular trip abroad we took –

content to explore each other, no need for a book.

For our bodies were lands unknown, a dangerous

adventure full of excitement, before limbs languorous

fell into repose, satiated, but not fallen into love’s realm too

far that our brains allowed our hearts be wooed.

Do you remember it, can you feel the sand between your toes,

that connection we had, warmth of summer spread from feet to nose?

All so simple then.  And if we ask ourselves what happened?

You know – I know – all good things must come to an end.
